Q: Just set this up and it squeaks every time I lift the handle. Can I do anything to fix this?

Posted On: 12/6/2017 By: Shara Maddox

A: Hi Shara, thank you for your question. Squeaking can occur when there is metal to metal contact and especially on this particular heat press which is made of entirely metal, you can definitely use some WD-40 to get rid of this noise. So down the handle arm structure, you will see nuts that are holding it together. Along those joint locations, spray some WD-40 in those areas and this noise should go away.
Q: Can I glue the blue rubber mat down? Is there a reason it shouldn't be glued? I thought they were all glued down.

Posted On: 12/6/2017 By: Shara Maddox

A: Shara, you can definitely glue it down with super glue if you'd like. We stopped gluing the silicone pads on our machines because when it is time to replace it, it is very difficult to cleanly remove it. Often times, the glue will tear apart the silicone and you will have to use a blade or chisel to remove the remaining residue. So to avoid this, we recommend purchasing a lower platen protector to wrap around the base. This will not only keep the silicone pad in place but it will also keep your silicone pad nicely protected from any stains or residual mess. You will also be able to slide your garments through the lower platen with much more ease.
Q: When heated my machine drips a black residue from corners of the heatplate and onto my items .. when this cools it flakes off .. if touched when hot it smears and does not come off items. What is this substance and how do I keep it from happening?

Posted On: 3/6/2017 By: Mandi

A: Hi Mandi, the substance you're describing is definitely very odd and unusual. These machines have a teflon coating on the heating element to prevent residual build up but it should never drip like some form of residue. If it is dripping in a liquid form, it is definitely something other than what was manufactured on the machine. All type to grease is generally furthest away from the heating element. All that is inside would be electrical components and insulation material but nothing that would actually drip. If you are concerned with this, please do reach out to our technical department and we'll definitely look into this for you.
Q: My heat press isn't heating last 100 degrees F. I have had this heat press for a little over 6 months with no problems so I have no idea what happened. Thanks!

Q: I asked u last night if another machine locked automatically or had to hold it down. U said all machines lock unless U have pressure too tight. Not true> I just returned one because U had to hold it down manually and I could not get enough pressure. That's the way it was made. It made for uneven printing and made a mess. I am researching now to find one like my sister has. It locks into place. U don't have to stand there and hold it down. Work's great!

Posted On: 8/26/2016 By: Debbie

A: Hi Debbie, we're not exactly sure which machine you are referring to but as far as any heat press goes, they are all supposed to lock regardless of structure, type, or model. The whole point of a heat press is that the construction and its locking mechanism is able to provide high pressure when it is closed. You should NEVER have to manually hold down your machine or else there could be issues with the pressure. If you have a manual open machine, if your pressure is set too high, it is unable to lock into place until you loosen the pressure. If you have an auto open and it does not lock in, then that means your magnet is not working as it should.
