Today, we're diving into the world of customizing glitter tumblers with sublimation. We will guide you through the process using the HPN CraftPro mug press with a tumbler attachment.
Introducing SubliCraft's Glitter Skinny Tumblers To start, you'll need some SubliCraft glitter skinny tumblers. These 20-ounce beauties come in white and silver, and despite their glittery exterior, they're ready for your full-color sublimation designs.
Preparing Your Design
- First, scale down your image to fit the tumbler's imprint dimensions.
- If you use software like Adobe Illustrator, download the PDF template from HeatPressNation.com for precise sizing.
- This template includes a smart object layer for your image and gridlines for centering your graphics.
Printing Your Design Print your design using a sublimation printer. If you're using a Sawgrass printer, use these settings:
- Substrate: Stainless Steel Tumbler
- Paper: Your paper's profile
- Check "Mirror"
- In the Color tab, choose "Photographic" or "Vivid" based on your design's detail level.
Trimming and Wrapping
- After printing, use a craft knife to trim your design.
- Slightly trim inside the edge to ensure a perfect fit.
- Wrap the transfer around the tumbler, aligning the trimmed side with the tumbler's center, and secure it with heat tape.
Using the HPN CraftPro Mug Press Now, let's use the HPN CraftPro mug press with the tumbler attachment.
Make sure the tumbler attachment is installed. If not, follow these steps:
- Remove the thumbscrews on top.
- Slide out the element and replace it with the tumbler attachment.
- Position it with the mounting holes and fasten the thumbscrews.
- Connect the cable to the machine.
Adjust the pressure to the required medium level.
- Turn on the machine.
- Heat the tumbler at 365°F for 60 to 90 seconds.
- After reaching the temperature, slide the tumbler inside and press it.
- When the timer reaches zero, open the machine and rotate the tumbler to its opposite side. Press it again for 60 to 90 seconds.
Peel and Admire Your Work Once the timer hits zero, remove the tumbler and let it cool. After it's cooled down, peel off the transfer, revealing your customized SubliCraft glitter tumbler!
