Q: i have tried some different presses, i just cant get to get good results with neenah jetpro SS wich suggest use 60 to 90 psi preassure, can this heat press achieve it?

Posted On: 8/17/2018 By: Luis

A: HI Luis, I don't think the pressure is the issue you're having. Although Neenah Jet-Pro SS requires heavier pressure than most other transfers, you do not need to apply up to 90 psi of pressure to transfer that. You may be running into an issue with your heating element. This heat press can safely transfer Jet-Pro SS without applying a lot of force. I think what separates the Signature Series vs the competitors is the quality of our heating element. The cast iron is extremely consistent all the way and should not have any issues transferring at the recommend setting of 375F for 30 seconds.
Q: How many colors will the heat press print at a time ??

Posted On: 8/11/2018 By: Shannon Frase

A: Hi Shannon, a heat press does not have the ability to print, let alone any colors. It is essentially a commercial grade iron that will compress a heat transfer material which pressure and time. If you are looking to heat press a colorful image onto a T-shirt, then you will need to look into the heat transfer paper options that use either inkjet or laser printers. For more information, please be sure to contact us and we'll be happy to share how everything works.
Q: Is there a general rule of thumb to estimate the psi at different threaded heights? If a transfer suggests 50-60 psi, how could I get close to that on this machine?

Posted On: 8/11/2018 By: Penny Smith-Giguere

A: Hi Penny, 50-60 psi on a heat press is generally considered medium to heavy pressure which is where you will want to be at for any heat transfer material. The way to measure this is actually be inserting a thin piece of paper in the front of your machine and locking it down completely. At which point 2"-3" of the paper gets stuck, that would be around 40 psi. From here on, you will want to increase your pressure a few more turns until it gets tougher to close and then that should closer to 60 PSI. For a video reference, we do have a video on our YouTube channel called, "Using The Paper Pressure Test To Fine Tune Pressure on a Clamshell Heat Press."
Q: Is the HPN-SIG-1515 a threadable heat press?

Posted On: 7/7/2018 By: Andreal

A: At this time the HPN Signature Series models are not threadable.
Q: What is the width of the base with the bottom drawer out? And what is the minimum space requirements that I would need for this heat press?

Posted On: 5/18/2018 By: Lori

A: Hi Lori, the base on this unit measures out to be 22" x 11". This means if your tabletop is just slightly bigger than this measurement, then your machine should be safely mounted without any issues. The lower platen is 16" in width and the machine can extend out to 39" with the drawer pulled out all the way forward. This is the measurement from the front of the platen, to the back of the machine.
