Sawgrass Superior Durability: Images created with ChromaBlast-HD are permanent! Apparel won't fade - ever - no matter how many times it is washed.
Sawgrass Infused Image: Unlike screenprinting, print-cut vinyl and direct-to-substrate printing, which are sitting on the surface of the product, ChromaBlast ink is actually infused into surface itself, and will not crack, peel or wash away.
Sawgrass PowerDriver: PowerDriver makes printing beautiful transfers a breeze. Powerful features enable users to easily optimise colour output for photographs, vector graphics or spot colours.

Q: We just recently purchased the Sawgrass SG 400 with sublimation ink, but we realized now that ink will only work with polyester fabric. Can we switch to the ChromaBlast ink?

Posted On: 9/8/2018 By: Sheenos

A: Hi Sheenos, we would not advise you to do that since these inks are completely different. You may cause issues in the ink heads. If you are looking to transfer onto cotton white shirts, then we would suggest going with inkjet light transfer paper that works with a regular inkjet printer. That would be a more cost effective solution than purchasing a ChromaBlast printer. The quality is nearly identical if you purchase the Neenah Jet-Pro Soft Stretch Inkjet Transfer Paper.
Q: Recently purchased a Sawgrass 400 for our startup t-shirt business. Is there a way to estimate the average number of shirts that can be expected from a set of print cartridges? We have a large number of pre-orders and are trying to ensure we have enough cartridges on hand to meet demand. Thanks in advance for your help.

A: Hi Tom, this number has been the longest running question and the reality is, there is no real perfect way to factor the cost. The printer can print roughly 200-300 full pages before the inks are depleted. A good way to look at it is an 8.5" x 11" full page print will cost anywhere between $2.00-$3.00.
Q: Would you recommend the 400 or 800 if you were using It strictly for t shirts

Posted On: 2/17/2018 By: Joni

A: Hi Joni, if you are sublimating onto T-shirts then I would suggest going with the SG800 since you are able to use 11" x 17" and 13" x 19" sublimation transfer paper with a Bypass upgrade. Please note, sublimation onto fabrics only work with 100% polyester in white.
Q: This printer does print on cotton correct? I was also wondering what apps do you recommend to use for designing T-shirt?

Posted On: 1/21/2018 By: Dillon

A: With ChromaBlast transfers these would be meant for use on 100% white cotton garments. For designing t-shirts any advanced image editing program would be ideal such as CorelDraw or Photoshop.
Q: I'm new to this. I see on both the ChromaBlast and sublimation it says for white or light color fabrics. So these wouldn't work at all on dark/black color t-shirts? Do you sell something that would work? Or would that be htv/heat transfer paper type of thing?

Posted On: 12/10/2017 By: Alicia

A: That is correct Alicia. Sublimation ink is a dye based transfer that transfers the full ink onto the substrate. Since sublimation ink only adheres to 100% polyester in white, it uses the color of the fabric to represent the colors. There is no film or any primer based to allows the colors to show on a darker colored material. This same applies with ChromaBlast. However, ChromaBlast uses a film very much like inkjet light transfer paper. If you need to transfer onto dark, we recommend going with Inkjet Opaque Heat Transfer Paper or Laser Dark Self-Weeding Transfer Paper.
