How To Make Shining Apparel With Siser Sparkle HTV

Siser continues to refine glitter heat transfer vinyl with their fresh line of Sparkle HTV. Similar to their Twinkle line, Sparkle embeds its glitter onto the material itself, offering a smooth finish while continuing to glimmer. But this time, there’s no need to knockout your design for a multi-layered Sparkle HTV design, as this material can be applied on top of another to really shine in both color and overall! While it’s ready to be applied on common apparel like T-shirts and sweaters, you can also apply to other items like shoes and belts, as Sparkle is able to adhere to 100% cotton, polyester, and leather!

Of course, you’ll first need to cut your design onto Siser Sparkle HTV with a vinyl cutter. To find the cut settings for your specific cutter, you can always visit Siser’s website at SiserNA-dot-com to grab their recommended settings for Sparkle HTV and their other materials. But if you’re using a Silhouette Cameo cutter, set the following settings on the Send tab on Silhouette Studio: Material to “Heat Transfer, Smooth,” blade depth to 3, Force to 6, and Speed to 8. If you’re cutting multiple layers of Sparkle, be sure that you’re selecting them one at a time before loading and cutting each roll or sheet. We also recommend completing a test cut prior, in case you’ll need to adjust your cut settings accordingly. Assuming you’re all set, click Send, then Send Mirrored as you cut each layer.

With all our Sparkle layers cut, simply trim and weed them to prepare for application. As you apply layers of Siser Sparkle vinyl on your item, your heat press will need to be set to 10 seconds at 305 degrees Fahrenheit with medium pressure. Once your machine’s at temperature, place your item on the lower platen and preheat it for about 2 to 3 seconds to smoothen out any wrinkles and remove moisture. Afterwards, place and center your first layer of Sparkle HTV on top of your item, cover it with a protective sheet and press for about 5 seconds. Once the 5 seconds have passed, open your heat press and peel Sparkle HTV while it's hot or cold. Continue to press the next few layers with the same steps, and for the final layer, simply place it on top of your prior layers and press for the full 10 seconds. With the final layer applied, peel it hot or cold and your layered, colorful Sparkle HTV design is complete!
