Sublimation On Cotton

Sublimation on garments has traditionally been limited to 100% polyester items that are white or very light in color. But did you know there are products out there that will allow you to use your sublimation equipment with colored and/or cotton garments? These special transfer materials and ink systems each have their own processes, advantages, and limitations. Keep reading to see which one is going to work best for you!

Siser EasySubli

Sublimation onto cotton will soon become a reality! Siser EasySubli, the new collaboration between Sawgrass & Siser, will no longer limit you to sublimation onto white polyester. This desktop sublimation solution will allow for sublimation onto colored polyester, cotton, rayon, and more. Siser EasySubli is designed to provide vibrant full colored results onto almost anything. It brings together the richness of sublimation with the softness of print & cut materials. This heat transfer vinyl is designed to work perfectly with the Sawgrass Virtuoso SG400 to finally allow you to think beyond sublimation onto white polyester garments.

FOREVER Subli-Light

Now you can sublimate onto cotton using Forever Subli-Light! This breakthrough 1 step product allows you to do the impossible task of permanently sublimating full color images onto light cotton textiles. all while using your ordinary Sawgrass SG500 or SG1000 sublimation printer. Sublimate onto cotton and no longer use those heavy polyester shirts. There is also no need to weed or contour cut your transfer since only the inks itself transfer over onto your textile.

FOREVER Subli-Flex 202

Subli-Flex 202 is a print and cut vinyl-like material that uses your sublimation printer instead of a big, pricey eco-solvent printer. It combines vibrant and indestructible sublimation colors with the extremely high wash-ability and stretch-ability of the standard Flex. Suitable for Sawgrass sublimation printers AND regular ink-jet printers with sublimation inks, Subli-Flex 202 is a cold peel transfer paper for light and dark-colored textiles made out of 100% cotton. It is best suited for letters, numbers, and logos with photo-realistic image quality in matte or glossy finishing.

Chromablast

Create like never before with Sawgrass' Virtuoso Desktop HD Product Decorating Systems featuring the Sawgrass SG500 (Letter, A4) and SG1000 (Tabloid, A3) inkjet printers. Imagine brighter, higher-definition images, with unsurpassed ease-of-use, support, AND lower startup and imaging costs. Virtuoso delivers all this and more, taking the art of digital printing to its next evolution.

So with this new product you can print on cotton shirts or anything cotton but can you print on dark colors now as well? If not what do I half to get to be able to print on dark colors and 100% cotton?

Printing on 100% cotton requires a dedicated sawgrass printer using chromablast inks. Uhd inks and chromablast inks are non compatible and will damage the machine. You can not switch inks so what ever ink you initially load into your printer initially is the ink you must stay with. I hope this helps.

I am hearing first time about sublimation printing on cotton-made fabric. A question is arising in my mind about how long sublimation ink is stable on the fabric and what kinds of ink and paper are used.
