Q: Does this work with the ricoh sg 3110 dn?

Posted On: 9/24/2018 By: Julene Smith

A: As it turns out this will not be cross compatible and will only be compatible with the SG400 and the SG800.
Q: Will a full waste collection until cause the image not to print correctly?

Posted On: 7/23/2018 By: Cara Morrison

A: Hi Cara, usually a full waste collection unit will require a replacement in order to print. Your printer driver will usually alert you when its time. If you are having print issues, you will need to look in the maintenance area of your printer driver to see what type of issue is happening. Streaks and banding could be an issue with the print heads. But furthermore, not taking the necessary steps to troubleshoot your printer correctly could cause further issues. Please be sure to contact Sawgrass Technical Support for any warranty type of issues.
Q: I have the SG800 and have not printed a whole lot and now the ink collection needs to be changed. Like everything else no warning it just stops production and the site states you should have 27000 prints which I am fractions from that. Not very impressed with the add ons this printer makes you get.

Posted On: 6/23/2018 By: Rick Sterl

A: Hello Rick, the Waste Collection Unit will collect ink over time even when the printer is not used. This is because as you leave the printer on, the printer will do a self-maintenance cleaning to prevent the ink heads from drying on its own. As it's doing this, it will prime the heads and store the remaining ink into the collection unit. This is of course assuming your printer has been on and not turned off. The 27,000 you see is assuming you've been continually printing. However, since your printer will automatically clean the ink heads every single day, every time it does that will use a good amount of ink in the process.
Q: Just to clarify...aside from the printer recommended to print the image using the special ink and paper you then need a heat press to actually the image to a product ... and do you recommend a heat press brand ?

Posted On: 4/8/2018 By: Deborah

A: Hi Deborah, if you are asking if you need a heat press to transfer sublimation ink onto a substrate, then you definitely do need one. Sublimation is a process where the solid form of ink turns into a gas and back into a solid form while attaching onto a poly coated substrate. This can only be achieved with a heat press.
