Hi there, I still haven't recieved my package, i assumed this virus effected the shipment time.
The Deciding factor on the Heat Press I chose:
My 15x15 MPress High pressure Heat Press arrived from Heat Press Nation with absolutely no problem. Prior to ordering, I did some online research on a suitable and affordable Heat Press to start out with based on what my goals were. I also contacted Heat Press Nation to discuss my needs and they offered me either the HPN Black Series or the MPress Heat Press. In the end, I went with the MPress.
My Heat Press Use Intentions:
Since I want to use my heat press machine with custom screen printed heat transfers, I also got samples of custom screen printed heat transfers as well as blank 100% Cotton Bella + Canvas tshirts from two other companies to arrive just in time for when my Heat Press arrived.
Trying Out my Heat Press and Quality:
The wait was finally over. Everything arrived and I started up my heat press and heat pressed a few shirts with the custom screen printed heat transfers and my Mpress. The results were amazing. The MPress did what it was supposed to do. The Mpress is American Made, very solid and heavy. Because it is heavy, you will want a solid sturdy base for it to sit on. On top of all of that, it was very easy to use. Definitely read the instructions to get familiar with how everything functions.
Pros and Cons:
Pros. What I really loved about the Mpress is that it is very solid. It does not feel and look cheaply put together. It was also very affordable and what I feel is a great starting professional heat press. The 15x15 platen thus far has provided me with enough space to press a variety of t shirts. I also feel that it gives me an even amount of heat and pressure. The handle to pull and bring up the platen is comfortable.
Cons: What I do not like about the Mpress is that it does not have a threading to allow your shirt to slide under the bottom platen. I also do not like that the bottom platen does not slide out so that you can place your shirt and designs with ease and away from the heated top platen. Because of this, aligning the shirts feels like a small extra step in trying to avoid getting burned while trying to align the shirt properly. For shirts that are small like kids shirts, you might not get an even amount of pressure because the side seems won't be able to hang over the platen. So for this, you will want to consider getting Heat Press Nations Tee Pad It which I am going to be doing.
My Overall thoughts
Based on my personal experience, I really love the Mpress as a starting Heat Press. It's both affordable and gets the job done. Like anything, it's a learning curve to understand ones own process that will aid in the efficiency on getting the job done right. This press definitely gets the job done right. As I go thru the motions as a beginner to all of what the Heat Pressing world can really offer me, I plan on upgrading to a heat press that has the same quality build as my 15x15 Mpress, but getting a heat press that has an auto-up handle, a swing away, as well as a bottom pull out platen. As of now, I am comfortable with the 15x15 size based on my needs. Had I started off with any other size, I think it would have been overkill.
Tools that I recommend so that you have what you need to begin with.
I recommend getting The Tee Pads, a Pro Grade Non-Stick Sheet and Tee Square It
Hope all of that info helps in your buying decisions.
